The German Society for Crystallography awards the Carl-Hermann-Medal to Prof. Dr. Georg E. Schulz, professor emeritus of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg.

Georg E. Schulz made numerous contributions to the elucidation of the structure of proteins, in particular of enzymes and membrane proteins, and contributed significantly to our understanding of the relationships between structure, biological function and evolution.

The award ceremony will take place during the honorary evening of the Annual Meeting of the German Crystallographic Society on March 25, 2019 in Leipzig.
