Something is going on and we really need your help…

Hi Crystallographers,

We – the Young Crystallographers and the German Society of Crystallography (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kristallographie, DGK) – are planning to establish an award for the youngest among the scientist: students below the PhD level. This award will be given to the best bachelor, master or diploma thesis about crystallography or using crystallography. More Information will follow at the DGK conference in Hamburg in March. Be curious about what is coming and, maybe, start to tell your supervisor and professor about the new DGK student award.

But as all important awards, we need a suitable name. This is the part, where we need your help. If you have a good idea for the name of the upcoming student award of the DGK, then tell us your suggestions. In the best case, we can name the award after a crystallographer, who had already great successes in their young carrier. A german and female crystallographer would be nice, but also other suggestions are welcome. If you think, another price named after a crystallographer is not the best idea, please also tell us what you would prefer and why. You have time to send us your suggestion until the 30th of January. We are looking forward to your creative ideas and suggestions. The suggestion will evaluate during the next digital pub. So don’t miss our next pub as well.

Your chairs of the Young Crystallographers,

Jan Philipp and Tina
