Dear members of the section „Crystal Physics“ (AK5) of the German Crystallographic Association (DGK),
on January 17th this year, Prof. Dr. Siegfried Haussühl passed away at the age of 86 years. As you know, his scientific work was mainly devoted to crystal physics and the exploration of structure-property relationships of single crystals. He also served for many years as an author, reviewer and editor for the “Zeitschrift für Kristallographie”. Therefore, on behalf of the journal, I would like to invite you to contribute to a special issue on “Crystal Physics” in order to honor Siegfried Haussühls scientific life’s work .
