The German Crystallographic Society (DGK) issues a travel grant for young scientists with student status participating at the 11th European Crystallographic School (ECS 11) in Stockholm, Sweden, taking place from 28th June to 4th of July 2026. A grant of 400 € will be given to a graduate or postgraduate student of a field related to crystallography at a German university or scientific institution.
Please send your application (electronic form, German or English) not later than the 1st March 2026 to the chair of the DGK, Prof. Dr. Ute Kolb (E-Mail: kolb@uni-mainz.de or vorstand@dgk-home.de).
Your application should include:
• a cover letter with motivation (one page maximum)
• a short curriculum vitae (CV)
• a proof of student status
• a supporting statement (letter) of a professor or a senior scientist at a university or a public research institution
Grants will be issued subject to the quality of application, an acceptance of the conference contribution, and the available funds; a membership in the DGK is not a requirement.
Applicants will be informed whether or not they have been granted a stipendium until 16th of March 2026. Payout of the stipendium occurs only under the condition that the recipient actually participates in the ECS 11 on-site. It is expected that the grantees submit a report for publication in the organs of the DGK.
