Author: Daniel Többens - Date: 4. February 2025

The German Crystallographic Society (DGK) issues travel grants for young scientists with student status participating at the 10th European Crystallographic School (ECS 10) at Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia, taking place from 22nd to 29th of June 2025. Up to 2 grants of 400 € each will be given to graduate or postgraduate students of a field related to crystallography at a German university or scientific institution.

Please send your application (electronic form, German or English) not later than the 23rd March 2025 to the chair of the DGK, Prof. Dr. Ute Kolb (E-Mail: kolb@uni-mainz.de or vorstand@dgk-home.de).

Your application should include:
• a cover letter with motivation (one page maximum)
• a short curriculum vitae (CV)
• a proof of student status
• a supporting statement (letter) of a professor or a senior scientist at a university or a public research institution

Grants will be issued subject to the quality of application, an acceptance of the conference contribution, and the available funds, but a membership in the DGK is not a requirement. Applicants will be informed, whether or not they have been granted a stipendium until 14th of April 2025. Payout of the stipendium occurs only under the condition that the recipient actually participates in the ECS 10 on-site. It is expected that the grantees submit a report for publication in the organs of the DGK.

Information about ECS 10 can be found at https://ecs10.org/.

Best wishes and regards
Prof. Dr. Ute Kolb, Chair of the DGK
