Goals and tasks of the German Society for Crystallography (DGK)

The aim of the DGK is to bring together all those active in the field of crystallography in order to foster the exchange of scientific experience and ideas as well as further training on a national and international level and to promote crystallography in teaching, research and industrial practice and in the public (cf. also §2 of the Statute and Crystallography Today).

The members of the DGK are given the opportunity to play a special role in achieving these goals. To this end, the DGK promotes initiatives by its members to address current scientific issues in an appropriate form and to bring them to a wider audience (see e.g. working groups).

The board of the DGK considers it one of its tasks “to make statements on questions concerning the crystallographers from a professional, professional and social point of view” (cf. §9 of the statute).
