DGK Workgroup Materials Science Crystallography
Materials science crystallography deals with the interaction between the structural composition and the physical/chemical properties of functional solids. The targeted production of such materials with predefined properties requires precise knowledge of parameters such as crystal structures, microstructure properties, bonding properties of the atoms, formation conditions as well as surface and interface properties. The thematic focus of the working group is not on the use or further development of individual methods, but on the comprehensive characterisation of a material using a wide variety of complementary analytical approaches.
