Call for nominations for the Waltrude-und-Friedrich-Liebau-Prize for the Promotion of Interdisciplinarity in Crystallography

Author: Daniel Többens - Date: 8. October 2024

The prize of the “Waltrude and Friedrich Liebau Prize Foundation for the Promotion of Interdisciplinarity in Crystallography” is intended to help promote the linking of crystallography with other sciences in teaching and research and to make this link more visible to the public. Works are awarded in which either methods and perspectives of crystallography have been successfully applied to problems of another science (partner science) or methods and perspectives of a partner science have been successfully applied to problems of crystallography.

The prize has been awarded five times since it was first awarded in 2010. The winners include scientists from various disciplines as well as visual artists. After a two-year break, the Interdisciplinarity Prize is being awarded again this year.

The Waltrude and Friedrich Liebau Prize for the Promotion of Interdisciplinarity in Crystallography is endowed with €2000. It will be presented at the honorary evening as part of the annual meeting of the German Society for Crystallography.

All members of the DGK and members of partner societies are entitled to make nominations. Prize candidates can also submit their own nominations.

Proposals with a brief justification are requested by Saturday, November 30, 2024, and should be submitted by email to the members of the Prize Commission:
