Introduction of the Working Group 1 (AK1) Biological Structures

Central aspects of our research are the determination of the 3D-structure of biological macromolecules using crystallography and the question how structure relates to biological function. We are focussing both on methods and application of these techniques. Furthermore we have an increasing interest in complimentary methods in 3D-structure determination, especially multidimensional NMR, electron microscopy (EM) as well as other spectroscopic techniques. The study group is set-up to provide a forum for scientific contacts, discussions and education. Currently it organizes several microsymposia at the annual meetings of the German Crystallographic Society (DGK).
